Founded in 1979, Mount Barker Waldorf School was the first Waldorf school in South Australia. For over 40 years, we have been pioneering a full Waldorf curriculum for our students.
Mount Barker Waldorf School spent its first year in rented church halls in Norwood, Adelaide. Through generous donations of land and money, the school was able to move to its present site at Mount Barker in the Adelaide Hills.
Our facilities are fully established, providing places for around 340 students from three years old to Year 12. The 20 acres of land have been harmoniously landscaped to provide an open environment of peace and beauty with play areas and gardens, including a superb educational garden.
Mount Barker Waldorf School is a full member of Steiner Education Australia (SEA), whose task it is to represent and promote Waldorf education at a national level.
Today, our school is well known and highly respected throughout the Waldorf movement for the quality and integrity of the education we provide.
We provide an education of the highest quality so that our students become balanced adult individuals, having developed clarity of thinking, sensitivity of feeling and strength of will.
