TEACHER TRAINING
An "Introduction to Waldorf Education"
For teachers and parents
In 2008 we introduce an exciting opportunity to learn more about Waldorf Education in a vibrant, artistic and active learning approach. The course will run on a Saturday morning for 8 weeks each term, 9 to ~ 12.15pm, starting 16th February. It will normally commence in the second week each term. Over the course of the year participants will be introduced to the philosophy and ideas behind the education and an overview of the curriculum from K - 12, through lectures and artistic work. Eurythmy will be a regular part of the course right through the year.
In Term One, the course will be carried by Isobel Benson, with guest speakers. In lecture and artistic exercises we shall look at a number of things including: the life of Rudolf Steiner - who he was; how we use art, story, and why; the evolution of human consciousness; understanding the human being. We will also touch on the philosophy behind the anthroposophic picture of birth, life, food, education, spiritual striving; how we as educators and parents can work in a more conscious way.
Costs per term for the full course will be $250. Places are limited. There will be a small number of places for people to audit the lectures only, at a lower fee. If you are interested, please leave your name and email address with the office now. Places are filling fast. A brochure will be available.
