Spring Fair
The Spring Fair is the school's major fundraiser for the year. It is run and organized by the parents of the school and is renowned throughout the district. People flock to the school grounds to enjoy the fabulous food, the plant nursery, live music, crafts, children's café, stalls and in general, the wonderful ambience of the school grounds.

Each year the Class Four parents form the organizing committee and allocate various activities to each class. Fruits are made into jams and marmalades, pickles are bottled, cakes are "created" for the famous German Coffee Shop and many, many fingers busily start on "craft projects" ranging anywhere from the unique Waldorf dolls to pink knitted pigs and mice.

As Spring draws nearer, there is always an air of anxiety as the preparation is happening "out there" in the school community and it seems as if the threads will never come together. On the day, however, it all goes smoothly and all that work comes to fruition as everyone has a wonderful time, including and especially, the children.

The monies raised help to finance major building projects within the school e.g. the new Music Room and the Gymnasium.

In the words of one of the parents who has been involved in organizing aspects of the Spring Fair - specifically a community wall hanging project for the raffle:

"(Another parent) and I came to this project, inexperienced and unskilled, but with a desire to foster community through creativity. As Class Four parents we moved into the group role of organizing the Spring Fair. We chose to take on the Raffle and decided to use it as a vehicle to share the beauty and the diversity of our School Community with the wider community. In the true nature of creativity, there were many curves of learning along this path and, amazingly, the right people appeared at the right time. At all times, the communal wall hanging project felt blessed and we felt privileged to be entrusted with it. We feel delighted, inspired, and proud to be a part of our community."
