Physical
Education
Physical activity is a part of all classes from Class One to Twelve. In the younger classes there is a 'morning circle' every morning at the beginning of the main lesson for 30 - 40 minutes where children practice gross and fine motor skills through movement to verses and songs, and practice hopping, and skipping and other exercises. Games are played in the afternoons. Circus skills and basic gymnastics are introduced towards the end of Class Three and continue into Class Five. In Class Five, time is given to the games from the original Olympics to accompany the study of Greece. From Class Six the students are taught by Physical Education specialists. Most classes have a double lesson per week and they try a variety of sports and fitness activities. Every lesson begins with a 'warm-up' session, followed by the learning of some basic co-ordination skills and then general 'fun games' like 'Storm the Castle' etc. Throughout their high school years, the children are able to enjoy a wide variety of activities e.g.
